My name is Kittisak Chotikkakamthorn (you can call me Nick). I’m interested in Data-related knowledge. I finished my engineering internship at the Department of Electrical Engineering, College of Engineering, National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan.

My research during an internship is Artificial Intelligence in Medicine related to applying a personal web camera for neck movement measurement via head pose estimation.

During studying in the Master’s degree, I delivered a thesis “A design and development of mouth segmentation for vision-based mouth opening measurement”, which was related to build a deep learning-based semantic segmentation on lip and teeth for mouth opening measurement in dysphagic patients who have head and neck cancer.

An Engineering Intern

The Department of Electrical Engineering is a department in the university focused on research on Computer Engineering, Signal and Intelligent Computing, System on a Chip, Power and Energy, Communication Systems, Communication Networking, and Electromagnetic Integrated Circuits and Systems.

Delivered state-of-the-art machine learning/deep learning models by:

Conceptualizing, developing and Optimizing machine learning models related to image processing and computer vision for head pose estimation by Python programming language with deep learning libraries such like PyTorch, and scientific libraries: NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, and Matplotlib.
Applying developed machine learning models to be the first works to apply a deep learning-based algorithm for cervical range of motion (CROM) measurement from a single RGB image to compare with a standard medical measurement such as a goniometer and a CROM device in the aspect of telemedicine to result in the acceptable CROM measurement thanks to the error less than 5 degrees which is the acceptable threshold for ROM measurement.
Engaging communication with supervisors (Wen-Nung Lie or 賴文能), and actively participating in discussions to reach a consensus on model optimization that will shape the project development.

Research Assistant

The Department of Biomedical Engineering is a research-oriented department to apply engineering knowledge for solving medical problems. The focus research consists of Biosignal and Image Processing, Tissue Engineering and Drug Delivery System, Advanced Computing in Medicine, Rehabilitation Engineering and Artificial Organs, Robotics and Computer-Integrated Surgery, and Biosensors and Medical Instrumentation.

Delivered a web application system by:

Conceptualizing, developing and Optimizing machine learning/deep learning models related to image processing and computer vision for semantic segmentation, and head pose estimation.
Developing front-end and back-end web development by Python, SQL, and JavaScript programming languages, HTML, and CSS with the usage of MySQL database, various libraries: Flask, OpenCV, SciPy, NumPy, Matplotlib, PyTorch, Tensorflow, ONNXRuntime and Tensorflow.js, and Bootstrap framework.
Deploying websites, and machine learning models on production to allow rehabilitation doctors to measure open opening, and neck movement for dysphagic patients.
Collecting datasets for training and evaluating deep learning models for head pose estimation and mouth semantic segmentation.
Engaging communication with supervisors, and actively participating in discussions to reach a consensus on machine learning design and web application development.

Build and develop a web application by using computer languages (HTML, CSS, JS, SQL, and Python), applying frameworks, tools, and libraries (Node.js, Bootstrap, and GraphQL), and using the database tool (MySQL).
Make a documentation as an instruction for clients on the developed application.
